5 Do's and Don'ts

Let's have a chat guys! This is some serious business. (lol) I am not an expert at making my pictures the best but I do know what looks good and what doesn't. I would love to give a few tips to those bloggers starting brand new in the fashion blogging world. Let's talk about 5 do's and don'ts when it comes to taking your pictures for your blog. As well, I will mention the best programs you can use to make your pictures look the best ;)

DO'S

1- Invest in a good camera

Let me set it straight, I am not saying to spend thousands of dollars but do invest in a decent camera that would capture great qualities of the pictures. I, myself, purchased the Nikon D5200. It goes for about $300 and I cannot complain at all. If you are trying to spend a little more then get the one that is the best known from beauty vloggers, Canon EOS Rebel T5i. It has one of the best reviews but it goes for $650. If you are willing to pay a little more, I will suggest you to go for the Canon.

2- Invest in Lightroom and Photoshop

I included Photoshop because it does come along in the Adobe package. You pay $9.99 a month for a whole year and you are able to use Lightroom and Photoshop. Believe me, I have no idea how Photoshop works but I have a brief idea how Lightroom does. Lightroom works well for the exposure and saturation of the pictures. Brightening the picture as you want with great pop of colors. It is a very easy program and it is worth it. About Photoshop, I don't feel very savvy about the program but I do know it is the best program out there and it has incredible tools you can use to make your pictures the best. If I ever get to figure out the program, I will give you guys a few tips on how to use it ;)

3- Get a photographer

Yes! I mean they are the professionals and they will make your pictures look the best! I know it might be a little nerve raking because we are NOT MODELS, but I know they will get the best shoots and you won't have to start from the bottom. If you do want a photographer, start from someone who won't charge you as much.

4- Invest in memory

If you can get a memory with a lot of GBS, GET IT! I am by number 3 and it is annoying to keep them in the same spot. I am scared I will lose them. But, if you are going to be shooting a lot as a beginner (which you should be very constant about) then go for the max of GBS you can get.

5- Invest in a good computer

If you already have a good computer then skip this step. If you don't have one, or yours isn't the best then try to opt for a new one.

DON'TS
1- Do not take pictures at night

JUST DON'T! Please. Believe me I almost made this mistake but I deleted them all and took the pictures all over. You are trying to get the pictures very crisp and with a good lighting. The best pictures are with your best friend (sun).

2- Do not use flash

I have seen girls use flash in the daylight, and I think it just ruins the picture. I know sometimes it gets cloudy and the sun just disappears but you do need to realize how bad the pictures look with flash. If the day isn't the best, then just don't take the pictures.

3- Do not spend money on a photographer

I know I said in the "Dos" to hire a photographer, but if you don't have the money then just don't spend on it. Try to get someone to take your pictures. You will feel more comfortable than with a photographer if you are a shy person.

4- Do not spend money on lenses

I feel very guilty about this, but I am dying to spend money on new lens. I feel prepare for the next step. But yet, lens are almost the price of the camera itself. I just don't think is worth to spend it at the beginning of starting the blog just because you are good with the lens kit for now. If anything, my advice is to look for a better camera that will give you everything extra that the regular one won't give to you.

5- Do not use filters

DO NOT! Filters can take away the color of the dress/outfit you are wearing. You are trying to promote your outfit, and show your readers the real deal of everything you are wearing. As well, filters tend to add shadows and make the picture dark. Everyone wants crisp and clear pictures.

I hope you enjoyed these 5 tips. I just want to help you start fresh and the best way possible. Leave your comments below if there is any other tips on photography that you think I skipped. :) Xx
