Build Relationship, not just Followers

I know the topic of this post will be a little harsh and something I have never thought of saying before, but I can't keep myself quiet anymore. I don't know if I am the only one noticing this and if not then I'm glad I'm not the only one. This topic is super important for many of us in the blogging/fashion industry. Not so long ago, Twenty Teenz turned 1 year old. Mind you I didn't know much about this blogging world but slowly I am getting to sneak in between. I have seen that many bloggers find this industry as a competition, but I can see that it really isn't one. Many of us have different styles so there's no reason for competition. We are entitled to inspire different people worldwide. Not everyone will like your style but others will, and that's what makes each one of us unique. I know some might have more followers than others but just think about how you were there once. Besides that, you should inspire those who are upcoming just like you wanted them to do for you.

In November 2015, I got contacted by a local blogger here in Miami to get together for a brunch. From that day on, I have met the nicest, uplifting, and most motivational ladies in this blogging industry. Now I call them friends. My point is, don't just build up your following without connecting. Build up a relationship with them, engage when they comment, and meet up when they ask. You have no idea what you can get from building up a relationship with them. (Not only bloggers but also your followers/fans). Building a relationship can get you further and become more valuable than you can ever think of. I hope you understand what I am trying to say and for those of you that are just building a following try to build relationships. How? By attending to different events, engaging with the people around you, etc.

Much love,
Xx

  1. Awww Laura we all have truly built a great relationship! :) and I am glad you wrote about this touchy subject because the reality of it is that we should not feel like competition (just like you mentioned). We are so much better and can even achieve much better outcomes by working together, which could simply be in the form of a comment, follow, text or even a saying a sincere hello at an event.

    XOXO
